Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Lost Dynasties Series D #6 by Gu Wenda was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 32,760.00 (€ 3,925.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gu Wenda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 3,680,000.00 (€ 425,300.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Lost Dynasties Series D #6 von Gu Wenda im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 32.760,00 (€ 3.925,81) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gu Wenda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.680.000,00 (€ 425.300,13).
