In December 2021 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Ask Me No More by Grace Hartigan. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,177.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Hartigan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Early November in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,380,000.00 (€ 1,285,993.85).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ask Me No More von Grace Hartigan zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.177,42) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grace Hartigan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Early November im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.380.000,00 (€ 1.285.993,85).
