Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Landscape with Pond, Sussex by Grace Cossington Smith. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 22,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,882.67). Admittedly, works by Grace Cossington Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Jugs in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 118,694.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape with Pond, Sussex von Grace Cossington Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 22.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.882,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grace Cossington Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Jugs im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 118.694,01).
