In April 2008 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Paintings, which included the work Australian Flannel Flowers And Gum Leaves by Grace Cossington Smith. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,876.72), 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Grace Cossington Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Jugs in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 118,694.01).

Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Flannel Flowers And Gum Leaves von Grace Cossington Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 31.200,00 (€ 18.876,72) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grace Cossington Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Jugs im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 118.694,01).
