Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Bush Scene by Grace Cossington Smith was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 37,200.00 (€ 22,244.73), 24% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Grace Cossington Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Jugs in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 118,694.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Australian Bush Scene von Grace Cossington Smith wurde im August 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 37.200,00 (€ 22.244,73) und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grace Cossington Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Jugs im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 203.150,00 (€ 118.694,01).
