Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Boats At Evening, Bayview by Grace Cossington Smith was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The price achieved of AUD 16,800.00 (€ 10,046.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Cossington Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Jugs in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 203,150.00 (€ 118,694.01).
