This price was achieved in the auction California Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gottardo Fidele Ponziano Piazzoni; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Marin Hills sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 21,325.00 (€ 18,309.44).
