Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Fonseca have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madre Cava in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 416,963.33).

Die Arbeit Portón von Gonzalo Fonseca kam im Mai 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 102.328,54) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Fonseca auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madre Cava im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.500,00 (€ 416.963,33).
