Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Palaeoxora by Gonzalo Fonseca. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,529.55). Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Fonseca have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madre Cava in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 468,500.00 (€ 416,963.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Palaeoxora von Gonzalo Fonseca zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.529,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Fonseca auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madre Cava im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.500,00 (€ 416.963,33).
