Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Untitled (Nayika) by Gogi Saroj Pal. The price achieved of USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,287.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gogi Saroj Pal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 18,000.00 (€ 14,187.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Nayika) von Gogi Saroj Pal zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.287,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gogi Saroj Pal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 14.187,75).
