In the The Dr Anton C.R.Dreesmann Collection Old Master Pictures auction, the work Jupiter and Callisto; Callisto before Diana; Europa and the Bull; and Cadmus searching for Europa: Illustrations for the Metamorphoses of Ovid sold for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 15,208.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Godfried Maes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Four Continents: America, Africa, Europe And Asia, which sold at auction in April 2015 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 54,929.22).
