In the The Dr Anton C.R.Dreesmann Collection Old Master Pictures auction, the work Erichthonius discovered by the Daughters of Cecrops; Minerva at the House of Envy; Mercury at the House of Cecrops; Minerva and the Muses; Pyrenaeus welcoming the Muses; and The Muses evading the Advances of Pyrenaeus: Illustrations for the Metamorph sold for GBP 15,275.00 (€ 24,714.55) - well above the However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Godfried Maes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Four Continents: America, Africa, Europe And Asia, which sold at auction in April 2015 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 54,929.22).
