Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Ghan aian18Th Century Pugilist I by Godfried Donkor for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,356.53). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Godfried Donkor have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2018 by the work Ghan aianbrowning Madonna at GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,572.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ghan aian18Th Century Pugilist I von Godfried Donkor für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.356,53) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Godfried Donkor wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2018 die Arbeit Ghan aianbrowning Madonna mit GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.572,11).
