In February this year Bonhams held the auction Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer, which included the work Signs of Spring by Glenn Dean. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,924.17), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Glenn Dean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Passing Shadows 40 x 50 in. framed 50 x 60 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 12,750.00 (€ 12,351.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Signs of Spring von Glenn Dean zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.924,17) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Glenn Dean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Passing Shadows 40 x 50 in. framed 50 x 60 in. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 12.351,06).
