Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Still Life Of The Fruits Of The Sea by Giuseppe Recco. It changed hands for a price of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 79,743.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Recco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, carnations, tulips and other flowers in a glass vase, with pastries and sweetmeats on a pewter platter, on a stone ledge in front of a red curtain in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 282,000.00 (€ 412,884.33).
