Auction result well in line with expectations
The work David Observing Bathsheba Bathing by Giulio Pippi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 37,000.00 (€ 24,930.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giulio Pippi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a woman, head and shoulders in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 444,052.63).
