Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints, which included the work The Birth Of Saint John The Baptist, After J. De Conte (?) (B., Archer 76; Massari 71) by Giulio Bonasone. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,487.42). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giulio Bonasone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Last Judgment, After Michelangelo (B., A. 80; M. 79), which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,974.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Birth Of Saint John The Baptist, After J. De Conte (?)
