Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Giulio Bonasone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2017. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Noah And The Animals Leaving The Ark sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,501.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Giulio Bonasone; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Last Judgment, After Michelangelo (B., A. 80; M. 79) sold at auction in July 2001 with the realized price of GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,974.85).
