In July 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale, which included the work Four Studies Of An Eagle by Francesco Mazzola. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,027.61), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Mazzola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,159,395.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four Studies Of An Eagle von Francesco Mazzola zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 35.027,61) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Mazzola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of A Bearded Man, Bust-Length, In A Black Hat, Wearing A Gold Chain With A Ring im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.159.395,17).
