Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Head Of A Man by Giovanni Lanfranco was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,775.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Lanfranco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Execution of Saint John the Baptist in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 162,508.91).
