Despite a disappointment, a good price for Giovanni Lanfranco
When the work Execution of Saint John the Baptist by Giovanni Lanfranco was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 162,508.91). Despite this disappointing result, Execution of Saint John the Baptist is the most expensive artwork by Giovanni Lanfranco that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Execution of Saint John the Baptist von Giovanni Lanfranco im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
