Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Susanna and the Elders by Giovanni Lanfranco was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture Online auction at Christies in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 63,418.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Lanfranco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Execution of Saint John the Baptist, which sold at auction in December 2019 for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 162,508.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Susanna and the Elders von Giovanni Lanfranco wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 63.418,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Lanfranco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Execution of Saint John the Baptist beobachtet, die im Dezember 2019 für GBP 137.500,00 (€ 162.508,91) versteigert wurde.
