Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work San Filippo Neri in preghiera by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta was auctioned at Il Ponte in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 8,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David And Goliath in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 409,250.00 (€ 474,728.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit San Filippo Neri in preghiera von Giovanni Battista Piazzetta im April 2015 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 8.500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Piazzetta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit David And Goliath im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 409.250,00 (€ 474.728,77).
