Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A nude youth sprawled on his back, upon a bank, lying on a standard by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta. The price achieved of USD 271,500.00 (€ 251,528.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Other works by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2010 the work David And Goliath was auctioned for GBP 409,250.00 (€ 474,728.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A nude youth sprawled on his back, upon a bank, lying on a standard von Giovanni Battista Piazzetta zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 271.500,00 (€ 251.528,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Piazzetta konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2010 die Arbeit David And Goliath für GBP 409.250,00 (€ 474.728,77) versteigert.
