In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Small Warm Palette Lips by Gina Beavers. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,455.38), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gina Beavers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lips with Painter’s Lips, which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,866.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Small Warm Palette Lips von Gina Beavers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.455,38) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gina Beavers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lips with Painter’s Lips beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.866,50) versteigert wurde.
