Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A bull and a cow by a pollarded willow, Dordrecht beyond, in summer by Gillis Smak Gregoor was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of NLG 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for NLG 5,851.00 (€ 2,741.10). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gillis Smak Gregoor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A traveller conversing with a milkmaid in a farmyard, in summer, which sold at auction in May 2000 for NLG 22,233.80 (€ 9,708.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A bull and a cow by a pollarded willow, Dordrecht beyond, in summer von Gillis Smak Gregoor im November 2000 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von NLG 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für NLG 5.851,00 (€ 2.741,10) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gillis Smak Gregoor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A traveller conversing with a milkmaid in a farmyard, in summer beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für NLG 22.233,80 (€ 9.708,22) versteigert wurde.
