Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work A milkmaid and her cows in a farmyard by Gillis Smak Gregoor. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,585.00 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gillis Smak Gregoor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A traveller conversing with a milkmaid in a farmyard, in summer, which sold at auction in May 2000 for NLG 22,233.80 (€ 9,708.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A milkmaid and her cows in a farmyard von Gillis Smak Gregoor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.585,00 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gillis Smak Gregoor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A traveller conversing with a milkmaid in a farmyard, in summer beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für NLG 22.233,80 (€ 9.708,22) versteigert wurde.
