This artwork by Gilbert Spencer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2017. In the Modern British & Irish Art auction, the work Ploughed Land, Garsington sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,183.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilbert Spencer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gilbert Spencer erzielte im März 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Ploughed Land, Garsington für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.183,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Spencer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man at a sluice gate on the Thames beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.695,82) versteigert wurde.
