In the Modern British & Irish Art auction, the work Ploughed Land, Garsington sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,183.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilbert Spencer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man at a sluice gate on the Thames, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,695.82).
