Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Recto: Madonna and Child seated on clouds verso: Study of hands by Giacomo Cavedone was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,410.00 (€ 4,926.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacomo Cavedone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of a bearded man in a cap, in profile to the right, with a study of another head in the lower left corner in January 2004 with an auction result of USD 65,725.00 (€ 52,782.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Recto: Madonna and Child seated on clouds verso: Study of hands von Giacomo Cavedone kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.410,00 (€ 4.926,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacomo Cavedone erzielen.
