Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ascension Of Christ by Giacomo Cavedone was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,003.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giacomo Cavedone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Head of a bearded man in a cap, in profile to the right, with a study of another head in the lower left corner, which sold at auction in January 2004 for USD 65,725.00 (€ 52,782.69).
