Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work The Letter (Gerson sisters) by Gertrude Käsebier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,189.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gertrude Käsebier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rodin, c. 1905 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,805.30).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Letter (Gerson sisters) von Gertrude Käsebier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.189,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gertrude Käsebier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rodin, c. 1905 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.805,30).
