Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work The Grote Markt, Haarlem, Looking West, With The Town Hall And Figures Conversing In The Market Square by Gerrit Berckheyde. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,100.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit Berckheyde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Grote Markt, Haarlem, Looking West, With The Town Hall And Figures Conversing In The Market Square von Gerrit Berckheyde zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.100,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
