The auction ended at the price of EUR 20,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit Berckheyde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).

Die Arbeit The Temple Of Vesta, Rome, With A Herdsman And Other Figures von Gerrit Berckheyde kam im November 2013 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 20.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
