Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gerrit Berckheyde could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work An Extensive Italianate River Landscape With Travellers Resting On A Path changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,699.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit Berckheyde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,036,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Berckheyde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Haarlem from the northwest corner with the Kruispoort and St. Bavo's Cathedral beyond im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.036.002,11).
