Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Fish Eaters by Gerard Dillon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2014. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 58,379.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerard Dillon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dreamer in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 416,806.45).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 58.379,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerard Dillon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dreamer im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 378.000,00 (€ 416.806,45).
