Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2011 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction The BAT Artventure Collection formerly known as The Peter Stuyvesant Collection – Part Three, which included the work I Paal 120, Durgerdam Ii Two Sucking Noses by Ger van Elk. The price achieved of EUR 475.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ger van Elk achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 20,000.00.
