Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Chemins Dépossédés by Georges Mathieu. The price achieved of HKD 1,401,000.00 (€ 164,400.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,100,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Mathieu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tuz Gölü in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 18,325,000.00 (€ 2,038,402.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chemins Dépossédés von Georges Mathieu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.401.000,00 (€ 164.400,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.100.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Mathieu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tuz Gölü im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.325.000,00 (€ 2.038.402,44).
