A top price for Georges Mathieu
The work Tuz Gölü by Georges Mathieu was sold in the Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 18,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 18,325,000.00 (€ 2,038,402.44). With this result, Tuz Gölü is even the most expensive work of art by Georges Mathieu that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Tuz Gölü von Georges Mathieu wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 18.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 18.325.000,00 (€ 2.038.402,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Tuz Gölü sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Georges Mathieu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
