In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Fishing vessels off the Dutch coast by George Stanfield Walters. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Stanfield Walters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'To sit on rocks, to muse o'er flood and fell This is not solitude! 'tis but to hold Converse with Nature's charms, and view her stores unrolled.', which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).
