Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Huntsman'S Lunch by George Sheridan Knowles was sold in the Sporting Art and Dogs auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,224.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Sheridan Knowles - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Little Ones, which sold at auction in April 2006 for USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,714.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Huntsman'S Lunch von George Sheridan Knowles wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.224,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von George Sheridan Knowles mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Little Ones beobachtet, die im April 2006 für USD 31.200,00 (€ 24.714,83) versteigert wurde.
