Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,097.21), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Sheridan Knowles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Little Ones in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,714.83).

Die Arbeit Enid, A Study Recto, And Portrait of A Young Girl, A Study Verso von George Sheridan Knowles wurde im März 2005 in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.097,21) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Sheridan Knowles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Little Ones im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.200,00 (€ 24.714,83).
