Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction Modern | British Art, which included the work Untitled 16 (Ash Wednesday 6.00 am) by George Shaw. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,935.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Undergrowth in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 79,875.00 (€ 93,228.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern | British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled 16 (Ash Wednesday 6.00 am) von George Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.935,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Undergrowth im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.875,00 (€ 93.228,43).
