Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of the cloisters and tower of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford by George Pyne was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 576.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Pyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eton from the North Terrace of Windsor Castle in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,283.63).
