In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House, which included the work View of the Clarendon building, Sheldonian Theatre and Exeter College, Broad Street, Oxford by George Pyne. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,539.37). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Pyne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eton from the North Terrace of Windsor Castle, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,283.63).
