Auction result well in line with expectations

The work The Fox Inn by George Morland was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 12,020.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Morland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Fox Inn in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 77,277.60).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit The Fox Inn von George Morland kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 12.020,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Morland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Fox Inn im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 77.277,60).
