Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Peasants beside a stream in a storm by George Morland was auctioned at Christies in July this year. It achieved a price of GBP 11,970.00 (€ 13,965.36), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by George Morland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Fox Inn in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 77,277.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Peasants beside a stream in a storm von George Morland kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 11.970,00 (€ 13.965,36) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Morland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Fox Inn im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 77.277,60).
