Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Barn Interior Vignette: Feeding the Pigs by George Morland for USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,605.64). This price was achieved in the auction European Art at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Morland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fox Inn in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 77,277.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Barn Interior Vignette: Feeding the Pigs von George Morland für USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.605,64) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion European Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Morland erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fox Inn im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 77.277,60).
