In January 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating And A Man Falling On A Frozen Waterway by George Morland. The »bidding war« ended at USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,606.01), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Morland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fox Inn, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 53,775.00 (€ 77,277.60).

Im Januar 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating And A Man Falling On A Frozen Waterway von George Morland zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 27.606,01) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Morland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Fox Inn beobachtet, die im Juni 2003 für GBP 53.775,00 (€ 77.277,60) versteigert wurde.
