Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Twenty five drawings including 'The Lists of Hurlingham' (illustrated); 'A Dangerous Rival'; 'The importance of externals'; and 'Nuisances of Country Life' by George du Maurier was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,575.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by George du Maurier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Two Thrones' in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,403.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Twenty five drawings including 'The Lists of Hurlingham' (illustrated); 'A Dangerous Rival'; 'The importance of externals'; and 'Nuisances of Country Life' von George du Maurier kam im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.575,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George du Maurier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Two Thrones' im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 14.403,68).
