Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work All In A Day'S Work by George du Maurier for GBP 500.00 (€ 604.54). This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George du Maurier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Two Thrones' in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,403.68).
